Annual Conference of Estonian Economic Association (EMS) 2024
You are invited to participate in the 19th annual conference of the Estonian Economic Association to be held in Pühajärve Spa & Holiday Resort on 25.-26.01.2024.
The topic of the conference is globalization vs. deglobalization. The keynote speech will be given by one of the world's best-known researchers of cultural differences, prof. Michael Minkov. He will talk about whether globalization is making cultures in different countries more and more similar or polarization is taking place instead? In the podium discussion, Peeter Koppel, Mihkel Nestor, Raivo Vare, Urmas Varblane will discuss whether deglobalization is inevitable. The discussion will be moderated by Raul Eamets. The working languages of the conference are Estonian and English.

You are invited to submit your abstract for an oral presentation from all economics and business administration sub-fields. Presentations on the conference theme will be particularly encouraged. The working languages of the conference are Estonian and English.
The poster session for PhD students will be organized. PhD students have an opportunity to get the poster presentation experience and collect feedback from conference participants. Students of UT can also get a credit for the PhD seminar.
The deadline for sending the 300 words abstract of the planned presentation or poster session is December 4, 2023. The proposals can be submitted here.
The conference registration deadline is January 5, 2023.
- Participation fee with accommodation in a double/twin room - 190 euros.
- Participation fee with accommodation in a single room - 240 euros.
- Participation fee without accommodation - 150 euros.
We kindly ask the doctoral students to decide on accommodation in a twin room with the discounted participation fee.
The participation fee includes accommodation, meals, visit to the SPA, and transport to Pühajärve and back.
On 25th of January the buses depart towards Pühajärve from
